06/15/2009 - Oakland, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Oakland Raiders have signed linebacker Greg Ellis to a three-year contract following his release by the Cowboys earlier this month. Terms of the signing were not disclosed.

Ellis had spent 11 seasons with Dallas and played 162 games, including 156 starts, for the franchise. Selected by the Cowboys with the eighth overall selection of the 1998 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-6, 262-pound Ellis ranks eighth in club history with 77 sacks, including eight last season. He has 634 career tackles.

The 33-year-old product of North Carolina won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award in 2007 after recovering from a torn Achilles that limited him to nine games the previous season. He compiled a career-high 12 1/2 sacks in just 13 games during the '07 campaign and earned his first career trip to the Pro Bowl.
